Rituals done with peace and love for the divine, bring back strength and satisfaction. Rituals done to seek direction bring insights and intuitive guidance. Rituals done to make material gains or to get rid of problems and pending karma, bring fear and confusion and in some cases, even suffering. For what returns is the intention behind these rituals.

Rituals of their own don’t do much. For it’s your intention behind the ritual, that underlying thought behind the rituals that gets answered. So, if your rituals are done with love, peace, surrender and humility or if your intention is to seek divine guidance in understanding what’s right and what’s not, then rest assured, you will be blessed and the rituals will bring something positive your way.

However, if you’re doing a ritual to end your problems, if there is a selfish motive behind what you’re doing, or you want to escape suffering in the form of karmic payback, if you want to take the short cut to your success and happiness…then what you will attract is more confusion, anxiety and chaos.

Because the underlying feeling behind such rituals is fear. And fear means ego. You cannot gain any help from the divine, if your intention is backed by the ego. Rather, such rituals or practices will only make things harder and more frustrating… because by doing them you will further delay your spiritual growth, maturity and karmic settlement.
